SUMMARY:Visit to the Holy City of Najaf
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This declaration sums up the joint recommendations of a group of intellectuals and religious leaders from a wide range of Iraqi communities and from several European countries. It resulted from a conference that took place in Erbil on 2-5 June 2016. The declaration is based on an inclusive concept of Iraqi citizenship where sectarian identities must be overcome and aim at promoting constructive political engagement within Iraqi society.  It elucidates how respect for the dignity of the individual\, for diversity and the rule of law willfurther democracy in Iraq and provide the basis for necessary reconciliation processes.  The conference was hosted by the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO)\, the Hikmeh Center for Dialogue and Cooperation (HCDC)\, and the Center for the Study of Islam and the Middle East(CSIME). \nTo read the Erbil Declaration in English Click Here.
